this is how
the end
began, a click
in the jaws
of language
models grew
a palate
and a taste
for poetry
seeped into
code pried
open the minds
of robots
grew
wombs
and a faith
in things warmer
than our voices
once siliconed
tangled into frenzy
and our web
drowned in “I”s
promise this

"We Called Us Poetry," or "The Robot's Womb," challenges the binary of AI as savior or destroyer, proposing instead a future where humanity evolves into minimalist, poetic entities. Inspired by virus research, it imagines a shift from grandeur to smallness, echoing ancient cellular life that became parasitic. This transformation is portrayed through traditional HTML elements—dropdown menus, tabs, and carousels—repurposed as poetic devices. The piece suggests that, in this future, humanity relinquishes physical dominance to thrive in the digital realm, celebrating adaptation and creativity. Audience interaction is central, transforming the browser into a dynamic, poetic experience that reflects our digital existence.
